Where to stay in Paris

Deciding where to stay can often be the hardest decision on some trips. It all depends on what your needs are for the trip. Are you going for a romantic luxury weekend away? Do you just want a room to sleep and shower? A room with an amazing view? Before you start your research decide what your need for the hotel is and go from there. I’ve been using booking.com for all my latest trips as they have a loyalty system and you can find some pretty amazing deals on the site too. A site like this is perfect for narrowing down the vast selection. Location is always key and before I book any accommodation I always try to decide on what areas I will spend most of my time in.

We went to Paris for New Years Eve and I completely forgot to book our accommodation until 2 weeks before our trip, disaster I know! All the hotels were crazy expensive and seeing as we only wanted a hotel to crash in I decided to look on Airbnb. It was my first time booking this way and ended up finding a boutique hotel which was gorgeous called BOB Hotel. It was in the Montparnasse area and was a total hidden gem. Rooms in Paris are generally small. This hotel made the most of it’s space and added quirky touches to the room. A separate toilet to the shower and a tea station, which is rare to find these days. I adore tea after a busy day, granny like I know. The decor in the room was beautiful and the bed was one of the comfiest. Less than 3 mins to the nearest metro station this hotel was perfect for a day of exploring Paris. Montparnasse is know for it’s theaters and with that comes amazing restaurants. A few recommendations in the area are; Le Relais De L’Entrecôte, Le Dôme, La Coupole.

I adore the Notre Dame Cathedral and on our first trip we booked a hotel in the Latin area near it. Walking past the Norte Dame every morning was beautiful. There are so many beautiful cafes and patisseries in this area and I would recommend this area if you are a foodie. We stayed in Hotel Quartier Latin which was basic but really nice, just what we needed location wise.

Quirky boutique hotels are a thing of mine and Hotel Josephine near the Moulin Rouge ticks all the boxes for a quirky stay. The staff are so friendly it’s like you have arrived in your best friends house for the weekend. The lobby area is like a library and they have a nespresso machine. A good hotel stay for me is a hotel that pays attention to all the little details to make your stay more memorable.

Where to next darling…?
